Lockerley Silver Band A Friendly and Welcoming Village Band

The Lockerley Silver Band welcomes members of all ages, with our current players ranging from enthusiastic pre-teens to those over 65. Our weekly Friday rehearsals at 8 PM are more than just a chance to practice our wide repertoire of music—they’re a cherished social evening. Halfway through, we take a break to enjoy a cup of tea, a biscuit, and a friendly chat with fellow members. In recent years, like many other bands, we’ve faced challenges in recruiting new players. As a result, we decided to step away from contesting, but our passion for music and community remains strong. We’re proud to rehearse in our recently refurbished practice room, which features modern kitchen and toilet facilities, as well as efficient heating to keep us comfortable during the winter months. The band is led by our talented Bandmaster, Richard Taylor, a well-known and highly respected composer whose expertise gives us a unique edge over many other local bands. Whether you’re a seasoned musician or new to playing, we’d love for you to join us! Just come along on a Friday evening at 8 PM—you’ll be warmly welcomed into the Lockerley Silver Band family.
